Simple manicure at home :

Hands are the most used part in any work we do yet apart from the regular washing of hands ,we hardly spend much time in maintaining them .However a clean and well maintained hand and especially nails catches the eye of everyone and it also reflects the personality of a person.

Unclean hands and nails are highly noticeable as are neat and tidy hands and nails .Make sure to pamper your hands on a regular basis not only for a neat look but for hygiene and health too. Here is a simple way to do a manicure at home with just a few basic items.

Things you need:

Nail polish remover

Cotton balls

Bowl of warm water

Filer

Cuticle remover (optional)

Cuticle oil or olive oil

Nail polish/top coat

Method:
Step 1 : Clean your nails with a nail polish remover even if you have no polish on as it removes invisible dirt too .
Step 2 : Dip your hands in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes . This ensures your hands are clean and nails become soft  .This way filing your nails and cuticle removing are easier .

Step 3 : Trim your nails to the desired length or shape using a nail cutter.Various shapes which are usually maintained are shown.

Step 4 : Using a filer ,file your nails to make them smooth and get the accurate shape .Try to do it in one direction for a better result and do not try it in different directions .

Step 5: Apply cuticle oil if available or even plain olive or coconut oil to your nails and fingers.Massage them for a while as it is great for skin and nails.

Step 6 : With the blunt end of the cuticle remover ,try to push back your cuticles a little . If you are uncomfortable or experience sharp pain, skip this step as it could be dangerous and even lead to infection.

Step 7: Wipe clean your hands and nails and apply any hand lotion on your hands.After that apply a clear coat or nail polish . Apply a  straight stroke at the centre first and then the two side strokes for a neat look .
