Pepper Idli

                  Pepper idly
Pepper idly is an alternative to the usual idli alternatives like idly sambar,chilly idli etc. Since pepper is considered an elixir spice it is no doubt a healthy snack and will be loved by both children and adults alike.The yummy pepper idly recipe is as follows:
Preparation Time:15 minutes
Cooking time:15 minutes
Serves :2

Ingredients:
Idlis -6 or mini idlis – 12
Onion – 1 medium sized finely chopped
Capcisum – 1 finely chopped
To roast and dry grind:
Pepper – 1 teaspoon
Fennel – ½ teaspoon
To temper:
Curry leaves – 5-6
Garlic – 2 cloves

To garnish:
Spring onions
Pepper idly

Method:
  1. If taking big idlis cut into cubes and set aside.
  2. Dry roast pepper and fennel and grind it to a coarse powder.
  3. In a pan heat oil , add garlic , fry for a couple of minutes , add curry leaves and onions and fry till the onions are transparent.
  4. Add the ground mixture , mix well and add the idlis and the required salt and toss well.
  5. Sprinkle a little water if necessary for binding and garnish with spring onions coriander leaves and enjoy your pepper idli.
