Importance of Physical Activity



As the age of gadgets and computers have set in , so has our penchant for physical activity . 
The age of obesity and lifestyle diseases have set in parallel to the age of the computers.
people have compromised on physical activity and it is showing in the form of premature aging,lifestyle disorders and the like.In order to strike a balance between a busy schedule and healthy living , try doing physical activities you are comfortable in and take time to do at least one physical activity like yoga or swimmimg. 
Here are some ways to fit in physical activity into your daily routine.


Tips to physical activity at home:
  1. Park your car deliberately at a distance and take longer walks to your destination.
  2. If you have a little baby there should be no excuse to not go out and walk . walk him in the garden or if he is even younger , push him in a stroller.
  3. Have atleast a small garden and do a bit of gardening daily.
  4. Even while watching TV , you go do some gentle stretching exercises and pedal an imaginary bike 
  5. Clean your house could also provide the much needed physical activity.
  6. Do some dance moves when you watch music or dance videos on TV.
  7. Play with the kids - indulge in some of their games,build a snowman, play hide and seek etc.
At office:
  1. A must- take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator.
  2. Get off your bus or train a stop early and walk to your workplace.
  3. Replace a coffee break with a brisk 10-minute walk. Ask a friend interested in exercises
  4. to go with you.
  5. Join the sports club at your office and play and game like softball etc.
  6. Do mild stretching exercises and neck rolling even at your desk.
  7. For computer users, eye rolling is a great exercise . Just close your eyes and roll your eyes.
  8. It feels relaxed and like a massage.
In addition to combining exercises with regular routine try to take up any regular exercise 
like swimming, yoga and jogging.This will enhance or maintain physical fitness and overall health and wellness.
