Eat Healthy during exams :


                        
Exams are tough times for students ,draining them physically and mentally. Increased concentration,facing time crunch,the need to excel and stress can have a negative impact and affect your final performance which is what you set out for initially in the beginning .
However exams don't have to be a dreaded word and a right preparation , balanced diet and calm demeanor will go a long way into making you perform to the best of your ability.Here are some tips on the food you should eat to make sure you have the required extra energy and mental alertness .
Protein rich food:
                         
Protein rich food increases your mental alertness .Healthy food include eggs,nuts ,cottage cheese ,oatmeal and low fat milk. Have a healthy breakfast like porridge ,vegetable upma ,idlis ,egg and toast etc to give you adequate nutrition.

Fruits,Vegetables,Fish
                         
Include fruits like bananas and apples in your diet and a healthy vegetable soup or salad.Fruits and vegetables give you the required nutritional supply . Eat food like salmon which has plenty of omega 3 fatty acids which is believed to increase brain function.

Carry Healthy Snacks

Always carry healthy snacks like granola bars,assorted nuts,energy bars or any fruit to keep your energy levels high .Avoid sugary sweet or chocolates which could give an energy rush followed by energy crash.

Avoid taking sugary foods and colas , take coffee in moderate amounts if you are accustomed to it .Caffeine is said to increase nervousness so avoid too much coffee .Also avoid any new supplements you haven't tried before.Stay away from foods made of white flour, such as cookies, cakes etc.

Stay hydrated:
It is important to drink plenty of water to keep the body hydrated so that it functions well.Dehydration is a real brain-stopper, so make sure you keep hydrated . It helps you relax and stay fit for exams.

Get good sleep:
Getting a good sleep is very important ,most people stay up late the previous night and try to cram as many things as possible into their brains eventually to be too tired to reproduce it in the examination hall.A well rested brain and body is the key to good performance.
